Developing a Compliant Safety Management System & Emergency Response Plan

This is a three day training seminar which is designed to assist an operator or corporate flight department in developing the framework and manual for a Safety Management System and a realistic Emergency Response Plan.   Also included is a high level discussion of what areas of the business must be protected in terms of accident/incident liability and culpability.  Included is a discussion of accident investigation procedures and what can be expected from the FAA and NTSB if and when a serious aviation accident/incident occurs.  A small modicum of  knowledge, forethought, and planning can save your company from financial disaster and financial.

Day one is broken into 4 two hours sessions.  The first 4 hours are comprehensive lectures describing the theory and basics of an SMS and what must be included in the SMS for it to be in compliance when the FAA shortly mandates  SMS requirements into the 14 CFR Part 135 regulations.

During the second four hour session, the operator, with the assistance of American Air Sentinel, will build an SMS manual by adding operator specific information into the SMS manual template developed and provided by American Air Sentinel.  This manual will then contain the operator's basic SMS program.  The basic manual can then be expanded according to the operators requirements and needs.

Day two is also broken into 4 two hour sessions.  The first 2 hours is a finish up and review of the SMS program and manual.  The following three 2 hour blocks are a concentrated high level lecture/discussion on the theory and basics of how to respond to accidents and incidents and what is expected from your organization.  Areas covered are what to expect from the FAA,  NTSB, News Media, families & friends, etc.  The source of the information in this section was compiled from research, insurance resources, victim's family, operator's who survived serious accidents, FAA and NTSB interviews, news media editors, coroners, and other qualified sources.

On day three, the operator, with the assistance of American Air Sentinel, will build an Emergency Response Plan manual by adding operator specific information into the ERP manual template developed and provided by American Air Sentinel.  This manual will then contain the operator's basic Emergency Response Plan.  The basic manual can then be expanded according to the operators requirements and needs.

This Seminar is ideal for smaller operator's and corporate flight departments who need an affordable, efficient, and reliable means to implement these programs and their associated manuals.  The American Air Sentinel advantage is that at end of three days, your safety personnel have been educated and trained in these key programs, you have full up compliant manuals (with backup CD's) which are tailored to your operation.
